april brings good times

Happy Spring! We've had a busy few weeks. We are actually trying to balance the "old us" --the ones who used to love weekend/house projects-- with the "new and improved us", which is the ones who realize that projects with kids are alot harder than they may appear to be. That said, we have been keeping busy.

Herbs are planted and growing. The grass is turning from brown to green--with this drought, it will be brown again soon. And the temperatures in the early part of April are approaching the high 90s daily. Yep, we are definitely still in Texas.

The little people are lots of fun. Keaton is actually 8 months exactly. wow! And Elliott is now reading back stories to me that I read to him--ok, ok he is not really reading them, but more or less telling his version of the story. Hey, I have to hand it to him, he's a cool kid.

We recently visited Wimberley, Texas which is about 45 minutes north of San Antonio. The CUTEST town---the kind of town that you really don't even think exists anymore. You know? A real ice cream "parlor" and Saturdays are considered "Market Days"...you get it. Just the kind of place that we would love to live, if only it wouldn't create a 1+ hour commute, each way for each of us. Oh well, we stick with city life. But we went there for the annual Butterfly Festival (again, the kind of thing that you would expect out of a small town). It was a fantastic day filled with butterflies and our friends the Reels. The pictures above show you just a glimpse of the day...
