There is something a little sad about putting the decorations away. The tree took up too much space when we put it up, but leaves a big void when we take it down. The joy and excitement that the lights bring, even after the big day is so peaceful. The glow of the lights is so mesmerizing. And the little decorations here and there around the house just bring a smile to my face...they do. Then it all goes away, and it is back to normal day-to-day. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't ever want Christmas to be a year-round thing, but I guess the kid in me loves the feeling that it brings.
