I'm getting pretty good with the soccer ball myself...since these guys love to kick them around. By default, we as parents, become good at what our kids are good at. We spent our first day of spring break romping through trails kicking the ball. Then we stopped for about 20 minutes to watch some guys play basketball---that will probably be our next purchase.
