We found a beautiful caterpillar in our backyard today. It was very unique---as it has a horn on it. So of course, he immediately became the family pet. We found a huge jar for him, looked him up on the internet and discovered that he was a tomato-horned caterpillar, so of course he eats one of my favorite fruits, the tomato. We made him a wonderful home and Elliott did his job of playing guardian to him...watching him every minute of every hour for the first day, at least.

Honestly, he didn't live past day 2, but the kids just think that he "escaped". Don't tell.
