sharing the wealth

So the rabbit ate all of our tomatoes, much of our squash, and due to lack of water, our peppers never had a chance. It has been difficult for us to really "get into" a garden this year because of the remodeling...our hoses were not always available, workers were in our yard into the evening, and the yard was not kid-friendly, which meant we'd literally have to sneak out without the kids knowing, in order to water. How fun is that? Not fun at all. So we briefly discussed turning our garden into a wildflower bed next year. That would be lovely to look at, easy to upkeep, and we wouldn't be disappointed when rabbits attack.

But last night, while at work, a local guy brought me a bag of tomatoes and onions from his own garden right here in town. They are beautiful and they are everything that I dreamed that my tomatoes would look like. So, I've changed my mind. No wildflowers next year...I'm going to try the veggie thing again, after all, next year is going to be much less chaotic that this year. Just look at these beauties!!
